Totem twisting is the best DPS that shamans can bring to a raid. It doesn't show on the meters and it isn't well understood by the community, so you catch a lot of flak, but it's for sure viable. For a full melee raid group, I think a single enhancement shaman is equal to or better than 5th warrior or rogue. Enhance works but you need to view yourself as a dps-support instead of a Regular dps. Enhance will have a hard time competing with regular “meta-dps picks” in raw numbers but with totem-twisting “switching in and out of your wf totem and goa totem” you will be able to significantly help the dps numbers of your team mates. Totem Twisting is a pretty special playstyle for Shaman in Classic WoW. You are supposed to time Windfury and Grace of Air Totems so that the buffs stack properly in a specific sequence. Can this be done by just by 'eyeballing it' or is there any Addons or Weakauras to support this playstyle? Any suggestions?
I never played Shaman in Vanilla or when this playstyle was expected so I don't really know what it feels like to play with Totem Twisting. It's probably mostly a late/endgame thing but it's best to be prepared from the get-go.
