DMG MORI’s Lasertec 4300 3D hybrid machine incorporates additive-directed energy deposition (blown powder) into a five-axis turn-mill machining center with a working area of 600 × 1,500 mm. This is the company’s second hybrid machine for additive manufacturing via powder nozzle plus milling and turning. It says the six-axis blown powder method is as much as 20 times faster than a powder bed.

DMG Mori is one of the largest machine builders worldwide, generating about $3 billion in revenue each from its Japanese and German divisions. Though its position in the 3D printing industry is comparatively limited, it is growing, which is why we thought we’d take a look at DMG Mori its role in additive manufacturing (AM). Nov 26, 2019  DMG MORI has released its LASERTEC 125 3D hybrid, a new, 5-axis machining system with integrated laser deposition welding capability for the Additive Manufacturing of complex components. The new system is intended for the manufacture, maintenance and repair of workpieces up to 1,250 mm in diameter by 745 mm high and weighing up to 2,000 kg. LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid - Machines for ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING by powder nozzle and in powder bed by DMG MORI.

This machine is designed to exceed the capacity for prototypes and small parts for additive/subtractive machining, as well as to enable the creation of parts with multiple alloys via laminations or gradual transitions. A component can be built up in several additive steps, and milling can be interspersed with the additive process to machine areas of the part that would no longer be reachable once the component is fully grown.

Equipped with a mirrored C axis, the machine can transfer workpieces in order to work on all six faces of a cube. Additionally, the machine’s lower turret can be used as a virtual fixture, rigidly supporting the part during the subsequent machining process only when and where it is needed.

As many as five deposition heads can be automatically parked in a secure docking station while turning or milling operations are being carried out on the machine. These heads can be prepared for ID or OD deposition, large- or small-diameter deposition, heat treating, surface hardening, or welding, providing flexibility in manufacturing strategy.

Feb 14, 2020  Using DMG (Mac OS X Disk Image) Files Across Operating Systems. Native to the Mac OS X operating system, the DMG file format is often compared to the ISO file format because both formats can be used to create sector-by-sector copies of optical storage media. But despite the similarities they share, the DMG file extension was actually created with a different purpose in mind. Apple Disk Images are files (usually with the.DMG extension) which the Mac OS X operating system uses to store disk images, with optional data compression and encryption.Such images can be mounted as volumes to access stored data directly from the operating system. Open the program and drag the disk image copy into the devices list. Then select it and in the 'First Aid' tab run a disk verification. If any problems are found, try repairing the image. May 11, 2017  Of course, it would depend on how critical this disk image is to you.
